Robinhood - one of the Sequoia saplings that could redefine the cryptocurrencies

Following a brilliant Andy Samu’s Disruption Banking piece, let’s focus on Sequoia Capital and its growing dominance in the Technology sector of Capital Markets. It now has relationships with one of the biggest companies in the tech field - like Stripe or PayPal. In their portfolio, you can easily find big, household names, but also some smaller, more anonymous companies.

Sequoia’s most interesting companies

Among the smaller ones, we can find Square, which tries to introduce the global currency that would be native to the internet. What is interesting about the company, is its relatively quick rise. In June 2020 Forbes covered their soaring stocks and pointed them out as a possible next big market disruptor.

The next company is FutureAdvisor, which belongs to BlackRock. FutureAdvisor service offers both institutional and personal plans for investors. The process starts with the test, which helps to create your profile. Then, you’ll be presented a digital personalized portfolio, which you could you however you like.

And there are more interesting companies, which could potentially become the next big hits and global labels, but the one we’ll be focusing on next is an exceptional choice.

Robinhood - the newest inventions

Robinhood certainly doesn’t have to be worried about its popularity anymore, as at the beginning of 2020 they already had 10 million users. The company provides easy access to the investment markets and tries to make the investing process as friendly, understandable, and approachable as possible.

By May 2020 Robinhood’s reported value stood at $8.3 billion, only to rise to $8.6 billion in the summer. The introduction to the UK drew so much attention, that even before the premiere there were already 150,000 users signed up from the country.
